How is Maritime SAR employed?

Maritime SAR is employed as a process spanning a system-of-systems construct: a monitoring (or passively receptive) system receives emergency notifications (from devices onboard vessele) which are transmitted through one or more channels/intermediaries (receiving stations, etc.) to be analyzied, and to deploy first-responder maritime and/or aeronautical rescue vessels for executing a SAR mission.
